Recycle your Christmas Tree!

Recycle your Christmas tree!

Each year, the Boy Scouts team up with Solano Garbage for Christmas Tree recycling. If you enjoy the ambiance of a real tree, consider recycling it when the season is over. The scouts will pick up your Christmas Tree and it will be recycled and used as mulch for the city landscaping.

Help support Scouting in your community, build strong character in our Scouts, and give back to our environment.

Suggested donation: $10

Trees should be ready before 7am on the day of your scheduled pickup. Make sure lights, ornaments and stands are off the tree. Tinsel must be removed but flocking is okay.

LEAD 2019

The best place for one-stop training is at LEAD (Leader Education and Discovery). At Scout LEAD, you can find all the courses you need in all the programs: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity, and Venturing. Bask in the warmth of friendliness and camaraderie of like-minded Scout leaders. This is Scout LEAD and it’s a blast!

Catch-up with old friends and meet new friends. Expand your scout networking courses in all areas, from outdoor skills to national policy.

All adults (Uniformed Leaders, Committee Members, Interested Parents, District & Council volunteers) are invited.

Invest in the future – YOUR future success as a Scout leader, and the continuing interest and engagement of your Scouts depends on trained adults.

  • What is STEM and how does it work for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers?
  • Where can I go Camping, Hiking or Backpacking in Northern California?
  • Where can I get in person training for my position as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Venture Leader?
  • How can I run fun and exciting Pack Meetings?
  • I want to be a Den Chief?

L.E.A.D. has you covered.  L.E.A.D. offers 136 classes across five colleges: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing, Outdoors and Continuing Education.  For 2018 there are 22 New Courses.  The day is broken up into 6 sessions  Some classes are 1 session, others, such as CPR certification, are 3 sessions, while even others, like Venturing Leader Training, last all day.

Every Scout deserves a trained leader.

Lowe’s is a huge supporter of Scouting and hosts Pinewood Derbies across the country for Cub Scouts and potential new recruits. Previous events have been well attended and very successful. In 2014, Fairfield hosted the largest Pinewood Derby event in the entire Lowe’s chain. They won company recognition, and are very excited to have us back year after year!

This event is open to all current Cub Scouts (and their buddies), and the general public including girls. A limited supply of cars will be available on site to purchase for building. Packs are encouraged to provide cars to their Cubs ahead of time so that any Cub Scout who needs help with making the car can come on the build days to get it done.

The rules for building and racing are found in the official BSA Derby Kit box.  All Wheels must be BSA approved.  Rules can be found at Pinewood Derby registration.  Online registration will be available soon!

You  can find contact information and meeting places and times at, and a convenient form to put you in touch with local Cub Scout leaders.

Scouting for Food 2018

November 10th & 17th

Scouting for Food
Over the years, Scouting for Food effort has truly been one of the most impressive undertakings by the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews, Sea Scouts, Explorers and their leaders and parents. It has been a coordinated team effort that feeds the hungry. During the down turn in our economy, a food drive is even more necessary.
